- What does affiliate actually mean?
Affiliate marketing is based on the concept of a partnership where you get paid for your success. Every affiliate can grow or make his website more interesting by joining the STRATO Affiliate Programme and advertising our services and packages.
- Who can participate and how does it work?
Anyone with a website can participate in the STRATO Affiliate Programme. You can even get involved if you are not a STRATO customer. Joining is simple:
Simply register to place the STRATO banner or text ads on your website. When a visitor clicks on the STRATO banner, they are redirected to the STRATO website thereby gaining access to the wide range of attractive and innovative Internet services and packages. When a visitor orders a STRATO Internet package, we record the source of this new customer using the personal reference ID on the banner placed on your website. We retain the ID for 30 days, so if a potential buyer does not order immediately but at a later date, you still earn the commission. - How much can I earn?

- What technology does STRATO use?
STRATO uses technology from zanox AG. Based in Berlin zanox is one of the leading providers of affiliate technology and programme services in the world.
- How does STRATO know a new customer came over my site?
That´s very simple. A personal reference ID is built into the ad material we provide you with. The ID gets transferred to the STRATO website every time a visitor clicks the STRATO banner on your website. It is then is stored on the visitor´s computer for 30 days by setting a cookie.
Sales can only be considered successful if cookies are enabled on the buyer´s computer. - What is a 60-day cookie guarantee?
Cookies are small text files transferred to the visitor´s computer via the browser when he clicks a banner. These files often contain information specific to the user; in this case, their personal reference ID. The visitor must have cookies enabled in his browser for this to work. If he places an order within the 60 days, the commission is credited to your account.
- How and when do I get paid?
All acknowledged earnings above £ 17 are credited to your account and paid by zanox AG every month. Your earnings are calculated on the last day of the month and paid on the 10th of the next month. You also receive a monthly statement by email. You have password-protected access to your user data, statistics and credit reports.
- What ad material can I use?
You can use a variety of ads and links which STRATO updates constantly:
- - Banners and skyscrapers of various size
- - HTML banners
- - Text links in e-mails and newsletters
- - Text links in directories, catalogues or portals
- - Text links in search engines
- - Product images for promotions and events
- When are the statistics updated?
Per-click statistics are analysed each night and updated. Sales are updated in real time. This allows STRATO affiliates to see when ad-clicks have converted into sales.
- How can I become eligible for the STRATO Affiliate Programme?
1. Website content
We do not accept websites that violate prevailing laws or contain erotic, pornographic or extremist (especially right-wing extremist) content, or content that violates good taste. Sites with prompted or mandatory clicks, appeals for donations, paid-for actions and similar are not permitted.
2. Use of marketing material
Affiliates place ad material or referral texts from STRATO on their websites. Affiliates are not entitled to use their own ad material, except for supplementary referrals or referrals they have written themselves. Changing search engine ads such as adwords and sponsored listings using the following or similar is not permitted. STRATO reserves the right to supplement the terms listed below: STRATO, STRATO AG, STRATO MailDomain, STRATO EasyWeb, STRATO PowerWeb, STRATO AdvancedWeb, STRATO EnterpriseWeb, STRATO BasicShop, STRATO AdvancedShop, STRATO PremiumShop, LivePages, MyName, WebSite Module.
Terms that are registered trademarks of STRATO AG cannot be used as adwords or sponsored listings. Affiliates are also not entitled to place such ad in search engines, which maybe mistaken for STRATO owing to their type or which do not link to the registered or displayed affiliate page when clicked, but jump to the STRATO website by way of a direct redirect. If the affiliate violates provisions under clause 2, he will not be entitled to any commission.
3. Pay-per-click and commission payment
Pay-per-click commission is paid to those partners whose website generates at least 0.5% sales out of the total clicks. In other words, at least 1 sale should take place from 200 clicks for the pay-per-click to be paid. If this conversion rate of clicks to sales is not fulfilled, the partner will only be entitled for standard commission. Please note that sales can only be recorded correctly if cookies are enabled on the buyer´s computer. Commission will be paid following successful direct-debit payment or a signed agreement with the newly won customer. In cases where several ads were clicked leading to one order, affiliates receive commission for the final click that led to the sale. The buyer and affiliate cannot be the same legal party (either person or firm). Only those customers who have not bought from STRATO AG in last 6 months and who are not members of the advertiser´s family shall be considered as new customers.
The agreement for a purchase is formed exclusively between the buyer and STRATO. Please note that commission can only be paid once the new customer you have referred has paid for the services or packaged ordered.
The amount invoiced forms the basis for calculating sales commission and is derived from the monthly charges, minimum agreement period and set-up fee applicable. Any supplementary services or forwarding costs that appear on the invoice to the customer are not taken into account when calculating commission. 4. Change in Basic Conditions
STRATO AG (STRATO) reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Affiliate Program without notice, especially if statutory regulations or court orders require this at any time. At the time of modification or discontinuation, any commission payable will be calculated using previously applicable conditions insofar as legally viable. Modification or discontinuation of the Affiliate Programme does not affect the contractual relationship between STRATO and the new customer. Participation in the Affiliate Programme does not establish any relationship vis-à-vis employment, commercial representation or appointment irrespective of the volumes achieved. The affiliate is not entitled to make statements and commitments in the name of STRATO or to identify himself as an employee, representative or authorised agent of STRATO. STRATO reserves the right to exclude individuals from joining the Affiliate Programme following e-mail notification.
