STRATO — 4 million domains online
Berlin, 11 December 2008
Europe’s second largest web host puts its fourmillionth domain online: the new Internet presence of the charity project AKINDA. The project’s continuance was uncertain. So STRATO did not only decide to sponsor AKINDA’s domain, the Berlin based Internet service provider will also donate € 10 for each Christmas card sent.
‘Thanks to STRATO’s assistance AKINDA will continue to help unaccompanied minor refugees in 2009’, said Andreas Meißner manager of AKINDA. Damian Schmidt, CEO of STRATO, adds, ‘We want AKINDA to become better known by means of its own domain. It’s great that we can help both a local charity and children from various countries.’
With four million domains online, STRATO, again, proves its strong presence on the Internet. As of 1998, Europe’s second largest Web host has promoted the .de-domain with the campaign ‘www.desired-domain.de’. STRATO registered the first commercial .eu-domain, the second millionth .eu-domain and the 11,111,111th .de-domain.
