STRATO RemoteConsole

The serial RemoteConsole is the preferred tool for professional web hosts to keep a server under control -- around the clock! Professionals who work on Linux systems are familiar with this problem: if you are only using SSH or Telnet and just one small error occurs whilst configuring the network or firewall, it is enough to lock yourself out of your own server. In these cases, even a reboot is often not enough to solve the problem.

STRATO RemoteConsole provides you with direct access to the server, as if you were working on location with a keyboard. This guarantees your ability always to control your server even when basic services are inactive.

How RemoteConsole works:

You can access the server at the same time that Linux boots. This allows you to reset the server root password should it be lost or forgotten.

You would like to boot a self-compiled kernel without the risk of the system not starting correctly? No problem! Since you can pass along start parameters at boot time you can restart the kernel without changing the basic Linux configuration. Should the new kernel not function as expected, simply reboot and everything is back to business as usual.
