If I cancel my domain, how do I receive the AuthInfo Code from STRATO?

If you would like to cancel your domain at STRATO and transfer the domain to a different provider, then your new provider needs a so-called AuthInfo Code (also: Authcode). This alphanumeric AuthInfo Code is a security feature for the unauthorized transfer of domains by third parties. If you cannot provide your new provider with the AuthInfo Code, a provider change will definitely be rejected for your domain(s).

Automatic AuthInfo Code Delivery

If the cancellation date for the domain(s) is in the future, you will automatically receive the AuthInfo Code at the earliest 30 days before the termination date has been reached, sent to the email address stored at STRATO. Thus, you will have enough time to inform the new provider of the AuthInfo Code.

The AuthInfo Code is generally delivered by email email to the email address specified in the domain holder data Please make sure that your master data is always up to date, otherwise the email address will have to be changed first, and this may cause delays in your transfer.

Manually request AuthInfo Code

Of course, you can also receive the AuthCode for your domain(s) at an earlier point in time.

To do so, log in to the Customer Service Area and select your package. Under Information about your domains you can have the AuthInfo Code sent to the email address of the domain holder by clicking on the link Request AuthCode. This option only exists if the domain cancellation has already been applied for or implemented (normally after 24 hours). You will also receive a written confirmation from us as soon as the domain cancellation has been recorded.
