This is how you can use the statistics analysis in your hosting package

You can access the statistics with just a few clicks directly in your password protected Customer Service Area; you only need your customer number and your customer password to do so.

Please log in to the Customer Service Area, select your package and open the Statistics menu option. Here you will receive a summary of all hits for your internet presence.

Overview
On the overview page, you will find all of the relevant information concerning your internet presence. The most important criteria like Top Items, Top Referrer, Top Browser or Top Client Domains can be found in a short overview below the graphical analysis.

Pageviews
Page views describes the actual number of page views. Each individual page that is viewed is counted separately. This value illustrates the utilization of your website.

Via the Date picker you can select a period of time and show the analysis for this period.

Sessions

Sessions indicate how many different domains have accessed your internet presence. Access from a domain is only rated once each day here.

Via the Date picker you can select a period of time and show the analysis for this period.

Hits/Files

Hits indicate how many elements from your internet presence were accessed. In this case, each page, but also each individual component, counts as a hit.

Example:
A page has 20 pictures. This equals 21 hits (1 page view and 20 pictures). You can find exact view numbers for the entire page under Page views.

Files are elements on your websites, for example, pictures or text files. Via the Date picker you can select a period of time and show the analysis for this period.

Data transfer
The Data transfer describes how many kilobytes were transferred from your website. Via the Date picker you can select a period of time and show the analysis for this period.

Log files and error logs
Log files indicate the views of your websites directly from the web server. You can look at the log files online or download them to your computer. Select the desired analysis period (maximum of six previous weeks) and click on Download Log File.

Error logs provide statistics about failed attempts to view your internet pages. They are particularly interesting for script developers, as they allow them to examine their proper execution. You can view these log files of the last 24 hours online. To do this, select the button Show error log file.

Items-URLs

The items/URLs show you which elements were accessed from which URLs of your internet presence. Through Show item URLs that were not found you can also show page views that could not be located; e.g. those which may have been created through a typo. In the event of a correspondingly high volume of typos, you can make a redirect to the correct page.

Referrer-URLs

Referrer URLs are websites that link to your internet presence. Via Show all values you can have all URLs displayed.

Client Domains
Client domains are domains from which your site was accessed. Via Show all values you can show all client domains.

Browser
Under Browser you can see an overview of the internet programs that were used to access your site.

Overview
Under Review you will see a summary of the most important statistical information for your web presence.

Statistical terms
We would be happy to explain to you the aforementioned terms in greater detail.

Hits
Indicates how often your internet presence has been accessed. Every page, but also every component of the site, is counted as a hit. If your page has 20 pictures, then 21 hits are counted (1 page view and 20 pictures).
The term Page Views is used separately from this to analyze only the access numbers for the entire site.
Files
Files indicates how many files have been successfully queried. Every internet page, every image and every other accessible file is counted as a "file".
PageViews
Page views only describe how many times the page was viewed. Each page only creates one page view, regardless of the number of files on the page. Unsuccessful requests are not included here.
Sessions
Sessions indicate how many different domains have access to your internet presence. If a domain accesses your internet presence again, this will not be evaluated as a new session if it occurs on the same day.
KBytes send
KBytes sent indicates how much transfer volume the queried files have consumed. An example page with a file size of 14 kilobytes (KB) and 5 pictures each with 10 KB causes 64 KB of transfer volume.
Total
Indicates the total sum in the selected period.
Average
Indicates the average sum per month in the period selected.

(1) Total hits (queries)
Sum of the total number of hits — this also includes those that were unsuccessful.

(2) Total files sent (data)
Sum of the number of files that were transferred.

(3) Total Code 304s (Not modified)
Every time an internet site is viewed, the browser (depending on the cache) first checks to see if it has the page in its own cache. If it does, it checks if the document on the server is more up-to-date. Only then will it actually retrieve the page from the server.

If it is not more current, the page will be obtained from the cache and does not have to be transferred from the internet. The same process occurs for providers who use proxy servers.

The server logs this request with the code 304 if the desired file was not transferred because it was available locally.

(4) Other responses (see below)
The server can, for example, answer with Code 302 (Redirected) if a page has moved, with the Code 401 (Unauthorized Request) if the access to a document was refused or with the Code 404 (Not Found) if the requested page does not exist on the server. These answers are summarized as Other responses.

(5) Total page views (total pages)
Number of requested pages (.html, .htm).

(6) Remaining responses
All other types of access that are not evaluated as Total pageviews gewertet werden (also z. B. .gif-, .jpg-Bilder, usw.)

(7) Total KB requested
The amount of data requested during the entire analysis period. The software calculates this number by adding the KBytes transferred and KBytes saved by cache values.

(8) Total KB transferred
The quantity of sent data during the entire analysis period as reported by the server.

(9) Total KB saved by Cache
The quantity of data that was saved by different cache mechanisms such as proxy servers or browser caches. The quantity is calculated by multiplying the number of Code 304 (Not Modified) responses per file by the size of the file.

(10) Total unique URLs
Number of different files that were accessed.

(11) Total Unique Sites (sum of different hosts)
The sum of all individual computers (hosts) that accessed your server during a month; this means even if a host visits your server very often, it is only counted once a month. Only the total sum of the individual hosts is displayed in the monthly statistics report.

(12) Total user sessions per 24 hours
Similar to Unique Sites. This is the number of individual hosts that have accessed the server within 24 hours, this means after a host has accessed your server for the first time, it will not be counted as a session again for visits later on the same day. This provides you with an approximate number of different hosts that have accessed your server.

(13) Total unique agents
Number of different browsers that the visitors to your sites have used.

(14) Total unique Referrers URLs
Number of different pages from which the visitors were directed to your sites.

(15) Max hits per day Maximum number of hits on a single day.

(16) Average hits per day
Average number of hits per day.

(17) Max hits per hour
Maximum number of hits during a single hour.

(18) Average hits per hour (Durchschnittliche Abfragen pro Stunde)
Average number of hits per hour.

(19) Other Response Codes
The server returns a status code for every hit. A list of the different codes can be found in RFC 2616.

(20) Request Methodes other than GET/POST
Requests that were neither sent via GET (get page) nor POST (data, for example a guestbook entry) to the server.

Example: HEAD (only get the header) or CONNECT (open proxy connection).

Please note that you can select a maximum of 400 days with the date picker.
