I have received an email about the sending of spam

Spam is a global problem in email communications. Each day, billions of spam emails are sent worldwide. This barrage of messages not only places a strain on email servers worldwide, but is also a waste of time for individual recipients because they have to filter and/or delete these emails.

In order to limit the amount of spam, STRATO is working on improving the spam filters used. The improvements are implemented consistently in order to minimize the amount of spam sent via STRATO servers. Within the permitted legal framework, STRATO spam filter technology is used both for incoming and outgoing emails.

Once the spam filter identifies that an outgoing email is clearly spam, the sending and delivery of the spam email will be blocked. The sender of the spam email will receive an automatic message, also called a bounce email, that the message was not delivered. Note that the bounce email is not sent out each time a spam email is sent, but only once an hour.

If you have received such a bounce email, it means that the email you have sent was clearly identified as SPAM and the delivery of this email was blocked. It is then no longer possible to send emails which are clearly recognized as spam, as they will be blocked by the server. Depending on your email client, you will then receive an error message in this case.

Note: A general disabling of the respective inbox will not take place. It will still be possible to send regular emails which have not been unambiguously recognized as spam.
