This is how you can set up an email account on your iPad
In this article, we describe how you can set up an email account (name@desiredname.de) on your Apple iPad and use it with the integrated client Mail
In order to be able to send emails with your connected domain, you will first need to set up an email account in the customer login of your package.
Log in to the customer login and select your package. Go to the Email and then the Email Administration menu and click on Create new.
In the next step, select the mailbox name. If you have connected several domains in your package, please select the desired domain under which your email account is to be created.
Please enter the desired name for the mailbox and the password for this email address.
Exit the setup in the customer login by clicking on Create mailbox.
Start the iPad and select the Mail symbol. Alternatively, you can launch the setup via the Settings symbol and then selecting Mail, Contacts, Calendar Please select Otherfrom the providers offered by default.
You will be asked to enter the information for your email account.
Name | Freely selectable name of the account |
Address | Your email address (for example, name@desiredname.de) |
Password | Your password for the email account |
Description | You will be asked to enter the information for your email account. |
Confirm your entries by tapping on Save.
In the next step, you can select if you would like to use a POP or IMAP account. The IMAP procedure is the default. What is IMAP and how can I use it?

The user name and password marked as optional fields in the server section for outgoing emails area must be filled in, because STRATO uses the SMTP-Auth procedure.
