How do I use Two-factor authentication for the STRATO login?

To protect access to your STRATO login from unauthorised persons, we recommend setting up Two-factor authentication (2FA).

Log in to the STRATO login with your customer number or user name and your customer password. You will find Two-factor authentication under Customer Data.

Use the slider to activate Two-factor authentication.

For Two-factor authentication, you need an Authenticator app on your mobile device. Download one of the linked apps, for example.

Now assign a device name. This name will make it easier for you to understand later which devices you have set up for authentication.

A QR code with your personalised key will appear in the next window. Open the installed Authenticator app and scan the QR code. A code will now be displayed on your Authenticator app. Enter this in the Code field below and then press Verify the code.

If the entry was successful, you will receive a notification in the following step about an e-mail that has now been sent to your contract e-mail address stored with STRATO.

The notice will now be displayed in the STRATO login until you have complied with the request for confirmation or the e-mail has expired after 24 hours.

Once you have clicked on the confirmation button in the e-mail, you will be taken to the following STRATO page, where you give your final approval for activation.

Your approval is then confirmed as successful.

In the STRATO login under the Two-factor authentication menu item, you will now find the device you have set up for this purpose and can create or remove additional devices as required.

The next time you log in, we will ask you for your confirmation code. Select your end device and open the Authenticator app on this device. Enter the confirmation code from the app in the text field and select Confirm.
